A new venue for me for this Surrey wedding of Sarah and Ross. The RAC Club in Epsom was the main port of call, but not before I’d started off by driving through a road block to get to the bridal preparations and then capturing the ceremony in south west London.
Oxshott was the first port of call where Sarah was getting ready, I was nice and relaxed on the way there and well on time before hitting a police road block less than a mile from where I was heading to (a wedding photographer’s worst nightmare!). Calm turned to panic and after stopping to consider my options I realised the only option was to head through it and hope for the best. As luck would have it I managed to route myself around the accident (just!) and calm was once again restored…
At the church, which was the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wimbledon, Ross was looking somewhat nervous as you’d expect but was kept busy by the guests arriving and before long it was time to get down to business. A first for me (and I’m assuming everyone else in attendance) when the announcement that the groom may now kiss the bride was made before the exchange of rings, but other than that the ceremony went like smoothly and after the congratulations were handed out outside, it was on to the main celebrations at the RAC Club in Epsom.
The newlyweds greeted their guests with a receiving line, and then it was on to the food and speeches. Having covered more than fifty weddings now it’s nice to hear some new material and this one didn’t disappoint and I admit some chuckles were had in between shots. The first dance followed and it was job done. A really enjoyable day overall, it’s always nice to visit new venues and the staff there did a great job in making sure everything ran like clockwork.
