Last month I was lucky enough to be chosen for the Gildings Barn wedding photography for Jenny and Jason. A warm, sunny Friday in June at a venue that was new to me made for a great day. Proceedings started for me at the church, with the ceremony taking place at the Christ Church in Brockham which is on the outskirts of the Surrey Hills. If there were any nerves in the lead up to the wedding for Jason, they must have trebled as the clock ticked past the start time and there was still no sign of the bride, but Jenny soon arrived in a car that was built up by Jason himself and the wedding was soon under way as Jenny was walked down half of the aisle by her father, and then met by her uncle who walked her down the rest of the way.
Once man and wife emerged after the ceremony it was off to nearby Newdigate and the reception at Gilding’s Farm Barn, where the theme was A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Gilding’s Farm Barn has recently been restored and makes for a lovely wedding venue with a large area at the back to compliment the courtyard at the front where guests can bask in the sunshine, of which there was plenty on this wedding day. After a few drinks, a receiving line was set up as the guests were seated for the wedding breakfast where the hog roast was served up (very nice it was too…), and then after dinner it was the usual flow of speeches, cake cutting and then the culmination of my day with the first dance (after some impromptu hoola hooping from the bride…).
A lovely day and a lovely wedding, I always enjoy shooting weddings in barns and this was no exception. The catering staff were superb as well, so hats off to them. Some images from the day are below, feel free to share on the social media of your choice or leave a comment if you wish. Despite being very busy at the moment I’m trying my best to keep my Facebook page updated with fresh images so please pop by and like the page for updates, and if you’d like to enquire about availability for your barn wedding, or for any other wedding venue then please use my contact page to get in touch.
