After a much welcome two month break, the year kicked off for me at this Surrey wedding of Hayley and Alex at the stunning, albeit freezing cold Botleys Mansion. This is a venue that is fairly local to me and one I’ve been longing to shoot a wedding at for some time, so I was more than happy when Hayley decided to book me a few months ago. The bridal preparations were once again in the excellent hands of Amy of Bedazzling who I really cannot recommend enough. Another excellent job by her meant that Hayley was looking fantastic by the time the ceremony was ready to start.
Alex was looking pretty relaxed when I first saw him, although there soon seemed to be some evidence of nerves as he stood waiting in the Green Room where the main action was soon to take place. But before long, they emerged as man and wife and the day got into full swing. Nearly all of the action happened inside as the temperatures dropped outside (where the snow had been threatening to come down for most of the day) and for Hayley was certainly feeling the cold for the short time she spent outside!
Botleys has a fantastic banqueting hall full of light. The speeches took place before the meal and then the evening reception began with the welcome sight of a sweet cart, where a bit of sugar intake was very much appreciated. Once the first dance was over it was another wedding in the bag and time to go home. Another tiring day but this was a wedding that didn’t fail to disappoint and I can’t want to go back again. A big thanks to Hayley and Alex for letting me capture their day.
So, here’s the first set of images from 2013, please feel free as always to like and share with your friends on Facebook/Twitter etc. I’ve gained a number of new followers over on my Facebook page so it would be great to see some more, where you’ll get all of the latest updates on my work.
