Shortly before Christmas I had the pleasure of travelling to another Bijou venue to undertake the Silchester House wedding photography for Ceri and Gareth. Silchester House which was a new location for me, having previously attended weddings at Botleys Mansion and Cain Manor, two of the other Bijou chain.
A lovely sunny winter’s day greeted me as I arrived. Both the bride and groom were getting ready at the venue while other family and guests helped put the finishing touches to everything, including of course the Christmas tree. This gave me a good opportunity to flit between the different groups of people and capture the various preparations that were going on, which is something I wouldn’t usually have the chance to do.
After some pretty chilled out bridal preparations which were being handled by the ever competent Amy Lacey of BeDazzling (you can see some of the other weddings she’s covered with me here), the dress was soon on and it was ready to get down to business with the wedding ceremony.
A chilly afternoon didn’t stop the guests enjoying some of the sunshine outside before everyone retired into much warmer climates in the marquee for dinner and speeches. The cutting of the cake followed and then the evening swung into action with the first dance, after which everyone burst onto the dance floor where I’m sure most of them stayed for the rest of the evening.
A very enjoyable festive wedding, here are some of the images from the day. With one wedding already under my belt for 2015, I’m looking forward to some (hopefully) warmer weather outings as we think about heading into Spring. You can keep up to date with all my goings on this year via this blog and can see my review of 2014 here.
“We want to say a big thank you for the photos. You managed to capture the day in the way we hoped and they were a real delight to look at, particularly those during the morning where both of us were experiencing completely different preparations – it was great to see what the others’ were up to!”
