It’s been creeping up on me for a while now, but my 100th wedding finally arrived and what a great way to reach the milestone with some Lillibrooke manor wedding photography for Katie and Dave.
I’d already met Katie and her dad in the past as I’m good friends with her brother, they all happen to share my passion for West Ham so it’s always a lot more relaxing to spend a day amongst some familiar faces. Even if the groom was a Liverpool fan…
Although reaching the 100 mark, Lillibrooke Manor was still a new venue for me and a superb one at that. I’ve always said that I love barn weddings and this one was no exception, with a great amount of personal touches put into it to make it even better. Despite a few trips over to the barn to check that the finishing touches were all being done well, the bridal preps were ridiculously relaxed as Katie was clearly enjoying every moment of it.
A fairly nervous looking Dave was waiting in the ceremony room as Katie made her way over the courtyard, but the ceremony itself was full of smiles and laughter, which spilled over to the post ceremony drinks that followed. It was soon time for the wedding breakfast, where the barn was decorated in a way that clearly showed Dave’s love of horse racing.
This was followed by the speeches. Three great speeches at that. I’ve now seen over 100 groom’s speeches what with the weddings I’ve attended as a guest as well as in a work capacity, I’ve even conducted one myself. When you’ve seen so many, it becomes quite rare to get emotional by them, but Dave’s was excellently executed and very nearly got me going at one point as I’m sure that all that were there will appreciate after the ‘McEwan’s moment’. Superbly done.
Cake cutting and first dance followed and as much as I’d have loved to have stuck around in a more social capacity, it was time to head home.
Images are below, a few more than usual but with it being a centenary post, I make no apologies… Please feel free to hit the like and share buttons, or leave a comment if you wish. I’d like to give a huge thank all the couples that have trusted me to capture their big day in the past, here’s to the next 100!
“Thank you for sending these over so quickly, they are brilliant! We had the most amazing day and you’ve captured it all perfectly which is exactly what we wanted, the one from the ceremony and speeches made me cry!”
