So it was back to the serious action on Saturday as I headed to Wokingham for some Easthampstead Park wedding photography for Carol and Adam’s wedding. This was my first wedding of 2012 and I couldn’t have picked a better day with it on what was probably the hottest day of the year so far. I already knew Adam as he’s the cousin of Matt, who happens to be the Godfather of my daughter, and whose wedding I also shot back in 2010, so I was looking forward to seeing some familiar faces on the day.
I started with Carol for the bridal preps which were probably as relaxed as I’ve ever seen them. The wedding dress was on in record time and I was then able to go and get ready in time for Adam’s arrival. Plenty of pre-wedding beers were consumed by the guests (plus a couple by the pretty nervous groom), as well as the odd Sainsbury’s roll, and before long the ceremony was under way, where carol became Mrs Wilkinson.
We were then able to enjoy the sunshine and get through a few group pictures, where the hired help in the way of the ushers was pretty poor to say the least. Sorry Graeme, but you were useless… Although still more helpful than Matt so I guess that’s something… Some bride and groom shots followed and then it was time for the meal and speeches. Then the customary cake cutting and first dance to finish off the day nicely.
I should at this point give a plug to the chap I met at the wedding that Carol and Adam had hired to do a photo booth in the evening. It’s something I often get asked about but as I don’t provide one I can now at least recommend these guys, who had a first class set up on the day. Picture Blast are based in Coventry but work all over the UK.
Here’s a few of the images from the day. Feel free to leave a comment below, I’ll also be adding an album on my Facebook page where you can tag yourselves etc.
