As a wedding photographer in Surrey, I get to shoot at some pretty great venues, as I did here. And what can I say about Nikki and David? Well, they’re one of the most laid back and nicest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of working for and they got the weather they deserved today as the sun shone over Horsley Towers. I’d not been to Horsley Park before (which is a De Vere hotel) and although I’d heard it was a nice venue, I wasn’t prepared for just how nice it was. When the blue skies light up the grounds it really does make for a fantastic wedding venue and for a wedding photographer it makes for a pretty good day! Definitely one of Surrey’s finest wedding venues.
Following a quick stroll around the grounds, it was off to the bridal suite to capture some of Nikki’s preparations. Champagne was flowing (one of the pitfalls of being a wedding photographer is that you can only watch while the bridal party sample the bubbly!), spirits were very high and it helped ease the tension for what seemed to be a pretty nervous, bride to be. On went the dress and downstairs I went, safe in the knowledge I had a great looking bride to capture for the rest of the day, which is all a wedding photographer can ask for really.
David was just as relaxed, possibly even more so, than the couple of times I’d met him before. Super relaxed in fact, and if there were any nerves for him then they certainly weren’t showing. The ceremony soon came and went and the new Mr & Mrs Downham soaked up the sun and the congratulations. My day was over after the speeches and I set off home just as the food was being roll we out. As I write this, the party will be in full swing and I’m certain there will be more than a few hangovers tomorrow, but everyone will look back on what was a fantastic day for a fantastic couple.

Nice wedding David, particularly like the shots during the speeches, you can tell they were all relaxed and it looks like the jokes were good!
