About Me

I’m David, a Surrey wedding photographer and father of two amazing children, based in Walton-on-Thames. I am also a child and family portrait photographer either on location or with a mobile studio.

From an early age I have had a passion for photography and developed a love for capturing people in a natural way. My style as a wedding photographer is a predominantly documentary style that is these days otherwise referred to as reportage or photojournalistic. I don’t like to direct people or take up valuable time on your wedding day telling you what to do, and whether it’s a church wedding ceremony or at a register office, I like to work in an unobtrusive manner, blending into the background and documenting the fun, happiness and emotion of your wedding and capturing the moments as they naturally occur, from the bride or groom getting ready through to the first dance. As well as a wedding photographer, I am also a child and family portrait photographer and can cater for portrait shoots at an outdoor venue of your choice. Alternatively, I have a fully mobile studio set up and will come to your home to take the pictures that you want. I find that this gives certain advantages over a ‘proper’ studio shoot, especially when it comes to taking portraits of children. A child will always be more relaxed in their own home surrounded by their own toys, whereas a studio can prove to be quite daunting and the best shots are not always guaranteed. Adults also find themselves more at ease in the comfort of their own home, which helps to get natural, relaxed portraits.

I am a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association and the International Professional Photographer’s Network and I have also been featured in Your Surrey Wedding magazine and on the extremely popular Whimsical Wonderland Weddings (WWW) wedding blog. I use Nikon professional equipment and am insured for public liability up to £5M. I am available as a wedding photographer throughout Surrey, Hampshire, Middlesex, Berkshire, Kent and London.
